More Guest Reservations for U.S. Vacation Rentals are made on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Although the COVID-19 Pandemic impacted the Vacation Rental industry in a myriad of ways, trends in booking activity by day of week remained unchanged. Between March 1, 2020 and June 20, 2020 in the United States, Tuesday and Wednesday were the most popular days of the week for new guest reservations with 16% of new reservations made on each day. Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays were not far behind at 15% of bookings made on those days. These day of week trends held steady from 2019.

We broke this down further to see if there were any markets that varied substantially from the U.S. averages. While the Texas Gulf Coast and Hilton Head Island saw these same trends, Los Angeles and Park City’s favored booking days were slightly different. For both markets, weekends were still the days with the lowest percent of bookings, but their most popular days varied. For Park City rentals, Friday was a very popular day in addition to Tuesday and Wednesday. For Los Angeles rentals, Thursday was the most popular day to book a vacation at 18%.
