Visitors come to Central Arizona to explore the Grand Canyon, the old west, and enjoy over 300 sunshine-filled days a year. Peak occupancy occurs during February and March when temperatures are warmer than most of the United States. In 2019, the average length of stay for vacation rentals was 4 days shorter than in 2018.
The average renter booked their vacations 16 days closer to their stay in 2019. These changes in the average length of stay and booking windows are larger than for many other destinations in the U.S. Overall, the region’s occupancy rate decreased marginally and the average daily rate increased versus last year. RevPAR increased each month over 2018 and Paradise Valley had the biggest annual increase in RevPAR of 38%.
