The average professionally managed property on Key Data’s program saw a large increase in revenue during 2021. The United States national revenue per available rental (RevPAR), which measures the average revenue earned per night, increased from $83 in 2020 to $126 in 2021. This 52% increase was driven by increases in both occupancy and nightly rates. The revenue growth is on track to continue; RevPAR from January through June is at $96, $23 higher than at this time in 2021.
As unit revenue has increased, so has the economic impact of vacation rentals in their communities by bringing in more tax revenue, creating more employment opportunities, and drawing in tourists.
