With the spring break period and summer season rapidly approaching, beach destinations are preparing for their busiest time of the year. Due to the seasonality of a majority of our top beach markets by unit count, a bulk of their revenue is made during the summer months, when tourists are looking for a warm-weather vacation. The Outer Banks of North Carolina and Gulf Shores, AL for example, see RevPAR figures roughly twice as high as their average annual RevPAR during that three-month period. That increase helps keep their annual RevPAR above the nationwide average, despite lower revenue during cooler winter months.
