The Outer Banks of North Carolina are similarly affected by the COVID-19 virus as the rest of the country. Bookings are down 99% on 3/23 compared to the same day last year.
There was a huge spike in cancellations on 3/18, coinciding with the announcement from the Dare County Control Group restricting visitors to the entire county on 3/17.
Adjusted Paid Occupancy pacing for January - March was well above 2019, which was lower than normal (caused by the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in late 2018 and the federal shutdown in early 2019). Besides a dip in late March to late April, the Outer Banks are pacing at or above 2019 Adjusted Paid Occupancy for 2020.
